Talks of Childbirth part 2

After my last childbirth conversation with Nicky...
I'm still feeling super buey kam guan [unsatisfied]. So i went to ask another of my male friend, John who's in a serious relationship.
I thought probably the mentality of a single man compared to an attached man would differ, but boy i was proved wrong!
Or perhaps it all boils down to individuality?

Anyway, here's the snippets of our conversation :

Lexmum : John, can i ask you something personal?
John : Yeah sure..

Lexmum : In future when your wife's gonna give birth, would you accompany her in the labour room?
John : What? NOOO!

Lexmum : Huh..but why not?
John : I rather slice my hand than look at my loved one in pain.

Lexmum : =.=" You don't want to see her in pain. but you can leave her alone suffering in pain?
John : If she screams n cries out of pain, my heart also bleed lar.

Lexmum : Wah lao!! Like that then ALL the more you should be there to give her support. Correct or not?
John : But I cannot tahan see the blood....

Balik balik also "Blood" reason again.
Actually what is so scary about blood? Don't they have blood flowing in their veins too?

How can the male population be so aggressive in sports, in life... and yadah yadah.
but when it comes to accompanying their wives in labour room, they just back off like a timid mouse?

OK, i know not all males behave that way.
LexDad certainly does not fall into the category. *Thank God for that*
And so does a few other bloggers' husbands who were there giving their wives care n support while she goes through the life changing moment, which may be traumatic for some people.

However at the end of the day, holding the bundle of joy in our arms, everything is definitely worth it.
